Stormcast Eternal Paint Planner

Image
A few weeks ago, the fine people at Games Workshop released a paint planner for Primaris Space Marines . It was good if you wanted to print it off and colour it in by hand, but had way too many artefacts and blots for it to work in MS Paint, otherwise known as Baby's First Photoshop. On my post, commenter Mal Edge asked this question: any chance you know of a Stormcast painter aswell ? seems like a missed opportunity by GWs in my eyes... You know what? He was right. So I made this: Save the picture and go to town! I realise that at this point I'm flirting heavily with copyright law, and just want to be clear I'm not making a penny from selling this planner. If anyone at GW wants me to remove it, just say the word (i.e. an email), and it's gone. However, I'll still be using this to help out my new student club members next year, so technically counts as educational use? I'm not a lawyer, and have a teachers salary with a plastic toy soldier ad...

Quick Tip: Stone Weighted Bases

Image
Tired of your Prosecutors and Harlequins falling over? Here's a quick tip. Something that I predict to be a problem for the new flying Inceptors is going to be the top heavy nature of the model. Harlequins and Prosecutors are the same, as they are either flying on a strand of parchment or leaping off of one slender leg. As a consequence, they fall over if someone breathes heavily in their direction. Some people like to glue pennies or other heavy coins under the base. Whilst that's not a bad idea, another way is to glue on some larger, heavier stones when you texture your bases with sand: Harlequins with stone weighted bases Prosecutors with stone weighted bases You don't need that many, depending on what stones you use, and can be cheaper than pennies. All this was in my sack of mixed aggregate for basing anyway, and some of the larger ones I collected on my way into work. The models stay upright, and the extra weight makes them feel a lit...

Warlord in Progress: Nearly Done!

Image
So close to finishing this guy... have to admit I haven't bee as enthusiastic about painting the actual Lord as I have ben for the Dracoth. This may be a sign that I need to collect Seraphon... Also, apologies for the late upload. A bit of a kerfuffle in the boarding house last night. Nothing serious, just the usual that happens when you have boys living together. Just a bit of a chat to fix it all, but it did mean I didn't get in until late. Also I went around the school grounds picking flowers for my wife. International Women's Day yesterday. Trying to spot daffodils in the dark is surprisingly difficult. Until next time! Thanks for reading. If you liked what you saw, and you want to help out, please leave a comment. Sharing this with your friends, and following me on Twitter , Facebook or Google+ would also be hugely appreciated. If you have anything you want me to look at, let me know in the comments below. I'll probably be able to write ...

This week in Warhammer 25/02/2017

Hello and welcome to this week in Warhammer on the 25th February 2017. Quite a few bits and pieces, and whilst it's not a roller coaster of a week in terms of news there are still some significant stories. Rumour Engine This is a similar looking part to a Stormcast cloak clasp. The issue with going down that line of thinking is the chipping on the central piece, as well further up the model. The servants of Sigmar tend to always be at their best, so they can be somewhat ruled out. My guess would be some kind of Chaos model from either 40K or Age of Sigmar. We'll see... there's not much to link this to last weeks image.  Warhammer 40K Theatrical Trailer for Fall of Cadia 3 With a bit extra information to be found on the Warhammer Community page, we have this new trailer for Rise of the Primarch. This is probably the biggest bi of news this week, so take a look! Rumour: Cypher kills the Emperor Faeit 212 have run a story with some ru...
