Warhammer 40K Scenario: Training Day

The first of my weekly paid content posts is going up today. It's only available to Patrons on my Patreon page, so drop in a few pennies now! Not only will you be able to see the scenario in full, but you'll also be supporting a poor teacher promote his hobby within his school.

The Scenario today is Training Day, and is useful for teaching the rules of any game system to a new player. I also use it to test out new units before putting them into real games... which means they have a good chance to look cool before being one-shotted by a lucky rolling Grot.

Here's the story that goes with the Scenario:

Training Day
Your unit/hero has been sent on a patrol deep in friendly territory. It's a fairly mundane task, well away from the front lines or any serious danger, and you know the higher ups gave you this task because they don't quite trust you yet.
But you'll show them one day.
You enter a canyon, cut out by a long dried up river. It's smooth all the way around, any debris having been shifted away by wind, rain and creatures. Things are fairly peaceful, and your mind starts to wander.
Suddenly you notice movement in front of you.
An enemy patrol! How could they be here?! And in your day dreaming state, you've almost managed to walk on top of them!
You think about turning back, but then cries of surprise erupt from the two enemy squads in front of you. You've been spotted!
An explosion booms out behind you, and the sides of the canyon collapse, cutting off your escape route. Your only choice is to go forwards.
You said you'd show them one day... so now the choice. Break through the enemy squads, and warn the higher ups? Or show them, and the enemy your worth?
Until next time!
